Today I decided “enjoy carbohydrates” I ponder on teacake, muffin or pikelet In‘t Co-op it’s a crumpet, it says on’t packet. But my pikelet is thick with holes joined by dough lengthy toasting required – has to be slow After, when the crust’s a dark brown, hot cavities waiting for the butter to spread and begin dripping Jaws clench, bite through my squeaky feast Pikelet or Crumpet? Oh bugger! Just eat.
