The Hunter and the Hunter
Stealthily it moves, low and slow.
Silent in the undergrowth,
velvet pads dampen the approach.
Discrete and alone, assertive and furtive
it glides across the surface
without any sound.
Covert operation, vigilant and ambivalent,
to creep along or pounce
unmasked in the heat.
Alert it crawls, aware of open air.
For the briefest timeframe
it lowers its guard.
In that zeptosecond the galaxy shifts
And jeopardy changes its spots.
