Cheese

There is large cheese in the sky
And I see it every night.
I often wonder why it’s there
As I bathe in its translucent light.
They say a man walked on that cheese
Way back in sixty-nine.
A giant step for all mankind,
Flags fluttering in soft moonshine.
I’m looking up at the monstrous Edam
Hanging by an invisible thread,
Perfect sphere of radiant yellow
I watch it from my bed.
There is a giant cheese in the night-sky
And I see it every day.
I often wonder why it’s there
But I’m glad it doesn’t go away.
