Theme: Can’t live without

Can’t live without (apols Rodgers and Hammerstein)

Rainbows with thunder and walking the pathways,
Hot mugs of cocoa and watching the sheep graze,
Bright birthday presents that wait to break out,
These are a few things I can’t live without.

White coloured tulips with zig zag leaf edges,
Welsh cakes or bakestones and cakes in huge wedges,
Swans that glide freely, free salmon and trout,
These are a few things I can’t live without.

Townscape and country and heather on moorland,
iPhones and laptops and high speeding broadband,
Seasons that change colour and woods to hideout,
These are a few things I can’t live without.

When the dog bites,
When the wi-fi fails,
When I’m stuck in a queue,
I simply think of things that I can’t live without
And wish it wasn’t me, but you.

Raindrops on glasses and old-fashioned brass bands,
Theatre and ballet and opera no-one quite understands,
Solving a hard puzzle and getting a take-out,
These are a few things I can’t live without.

When the dog bites,
When the bus is full,
When the machine eats my card,
I simply think of things that I can’t live without
And then it doesn’t seem so hard.

Friends who are near us and those who are quite far,
Ones gone before, now a heavenly, bright star,
Relatives and neighbours who make you just shout,
These are a few things I can’t live without.

Parents doing everything without expectation of any thanks,
Our role models, guardians and sometimes our saviour banks,
Memories of Christmas and that one lonely sprout,
These are a few things I can’t live without.

(To be sung in a Julie Andrews sort of way)
