26th April 2021 Pink Supermoon
You saw me waving alone here,
Without a care in the world
Without a worry of my own.
You knew just what I was there for.
You heard me saying a prayer for
A cloudless sky, not a nightmare.
For then suddenly, you appeared before me
Hanging low above the precinct.
I heard you whisper, ‘Please adore me’
And when I looked, you had turned to pink.
Now I’m no longer alone.
I have your photo forever
To keep and always to own.
Then suddenly there were swirls before me
And I wondered if it might be the drink
There were yellow streaks and blue ones and green ones
And when I looked the clouds had turned pink.
Now we are saying goodbye you,
We’ll see you next year again too
And until then I’ll be blue.
(to be sung to Blue Moon)
